Be a part of our celebration of Pete and Joe

The Trust is run completely by volunteers including the Trustees, the Judges, and the “workers” behind the scenes particularly at the annual award event. It is funded entirely by donations and the modest interest earned on its reserves. The Trust welcomes support and there are a number of ways this can be done:

• Attending the annual award event – this is the centrepiece for the Award and we hope as many people as possible will attend to celebrate the achievements of the shortlisted authors, and to recall Pete and Joe’s lives and achievements.

• Sharing our news – tell other people about us, and our news, what’s going on!

• Following us on Twitter – the more followers we have, the better we can keep them informed and the better we can receive comments and positive suggestions

• Providing feedback – letting us know what you think of the website and the event and what we might do differently to improve. We have changed the room arrangement this year to get more people in, what do you think?

• Sharing your memories – if you know or just met Pete or Joe, please share your stories and memories with us. If Pete and Joe’s writing inspired you, we would love to hear from you.

• Becoming a judge – there are three judges each year and no judge serves more than two years in succession. We are always on the lookout for new members of the judging panel and if this interests you, please get in touch, letting us know why you think you would be suitable for the role. Or if you have suggestions for future judges, please let us know.

• Practical help – at our event at KMF: taking and sharing your photographs of the event and sharing with us, after the event… helping to pack away the books, clearing up etc. so we can vacate the Malt Room promptly.
